Pica is the tendency to eat non food items. This is very evident in people and children with intellectual disabilities and pregnant women.

Chewable, sensory based toys are available in the market which cater to the needs of children with autism. But there is a need for children who have higher sensory needs and are heavy biters. 

Chewable block toys in organic forms with varying textures and colours were proposed. The blocks could be attached to each other forming unique pre conceived forms. They are soft on the teeth but satisfy the sensory needs whilst creating engagement.
